142 of 143 people found the following review helpful TV works better than most small portable TVs
By Mike Z on September 28, 2012
I got myself this TV about the other day. I ran it through its paces and discovered overall it labored pretty much for what is. I scanned and received the majority of the fundamental network channels using the provided antenna. The image quality is nice to avoid the image from being extended and distorted the zoom mode had set to "normal "on HD stations. Many people don't mind the extended look to get a complete picture without bars.
The seem about this TV is what to become expected with this small device. The seem appearing out of the earphones is really a considerable improvement.
There's a Jack quietly over the mind phone jack, to have an exterior antenna. It requires an adapter cable that can be purchased through RCA for about $14 (nobody appears to hold it). you need to result in the antenna adapter available when selling this TV. I got myself the antenna adapter cable, connected to my outdoors TV antenna and rescanned the television. This time around I received 70 channels & sub-channels within the DFW area. I additionally attempted it by having an indoor Leaf Antenna which selected up nearly every funnel which i usually watch. My home is the nation about 35 miles from Dallas, where the majority of the Tv producers can be found. . I believe the television may come using the antenna adapter cable or perhaps be made more easily available since it helps make the TV much more functional when compared to flimsy antenna that will get the television. The sensitivity on this TV is considerably better than most of the small portable TVs that I have tried in the past
Battery existence is all about what should be expected. If you are using it a great deal you will get the AC power adapter or 4 AA rechargeable batteries and a little charger for around $15. However if you simply utilize it in desperate situations you will need to keep some alkaline batteries with this TV. Read more › 12 Comments Was this review useful for you? By Tracey on This summer 11, 2012 I really like this TV! I'd a classic analog style for a long time and am disappointed when tv went digital and it didnt work any longer. it will get great reception, I've attempted other portable digital tvs, they're horrible in reception. My Mother got that one when she moved here, (Tornado Alley) from from condition, mainly for weather. As a birthday gift she got me my very own! I'd really missed not informed once the power was out or after i what food was in work. This TV is ideal for power outages, since you just alter the batteries, 4 AA. It doesnt make use of up batteries extremely fast. No plugging in or checking up on a charger. I make it within my purse during tornados season and can catch the large game at the office within my breaks.Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Sharod's Pen on October 30, 2012 I got myself the RCA 3.5" portable TV in September since it just appeared just like a neat, cute little gadget (and that i really love gadgets). Wasn't probably the most practical buy, considering that I already were built with a perfectly good portable digital unit the Coby TFTV791 7-Inch - also highly suggested, for slightly different reasons, but I loved how big this factor, the superb picture along with the proven fact that I would not Need to depend on AC power, because it runs just for over two hrs on 4 AA batteries - additionally a downside, because why would you need to run this little screen, burning out batteries at 2 hrs a clip, if you have other [plug-in] alternatives? so, it essentially sitting within the box it arrived during the last handful of several weeks.
Then Tropical Storm Sandy made landfall yesterday within New york city. My power went pretty early. Fortunately I'd a brand new 20-pack of AAs...pulled individuals out combined with the RCA. Now actually, I survive the 3rd floor of a condominium with great reception in the home windows, no interference. I was able to pick up all major channels plus at least 12 others (many not really available through my cable provider). I had been without power for more than 12 hrs, and I'd say I burned through 3.5 teams of batteries...Following the third group of batteries died, I switched around the Coby unit, which in fact had a good hour's price of power left around the built-in rechargable battery. Then to the RCA...there's still some four working AA's within the unit.
You cannot really place a cost on the device such as this, For me. It truly is only as valuable as what it will when it's needed to get it done, I think (true of other nutritional foods really). Before the storm and subsequent power outage, I honestly did not think it had been a helpful upgrade on me I simply think it is "cute". Read more › 13 Comments Was this review useful for you? Bought as a present in my husband to make use of when working outdoors within the garden. He likes the dimensions, Reception, and excellence of the picture although the picture is small. Also, he likes the truth that it requires batteries and need not be billed. He just comes in new batteries and is all set. No awaiting it to recharge. Fits he needs.1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... Appreciate your feedback. If the review is inappropriate, Please tell us. By John Metzger on Feb 11, 2012
Bought this for storms once the power is out. Reside in Greater Cincinnati area, and this little dynamo selected up all the local HD OTA channels. Beware though, the antenna that's recessed and pulls from the side, seems to be really fragile and may break. However, around the periodic use, I believe the kodak playtouch camcorder assists it's purpose perfectly. I'll be trying it out throughout the day games from the opening round from the NCAA tournament the following month as i am secured within my daytime cubicle! If you're able to discover the TV, it's well worth the cost!2 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback...
