79 of 83 people found the following review helpful Good mind unit to date...lots of accesories needed for full potential By Alexander T. Baird on April 3, 2015 I selected one up a few days ago and had installed. It's a beautiful unit but A few notes and Caveats: •The USB output in the either from the USB ports isn't sufficient to charge bigger phablets like the Universe Note 4 or Iphone 6 as i am using Gps navigation. This is problematic for applications such as androidauto as it requires a usb cable connection to the unit (So far as I will tell) To operate. I'm searching to find out if I'm able to obtain a powered usb hub and make use of an inverter to improve the ability and share the usb connection •The appradio application at this time for android is really a mess on bigger phones. The written text is really small on the telephone they can be unreadable. •Connections using appradio or appradio unchained require an MHL adapter. For those who have a current phone, watch out for cheap or older MHL adapters. They likely is going to be flakey and will not output the full resoultion of the phone (MHL 1 and 2 are restricted to 1080 output...MHL 3 can output as much as 4k.) The brandname MHL adapters (Samsung) cost a lot at $50 +. However they work. •There are extremely couple of apps suitable for appradio at this time. I recommend you utilize appradio unchained reloaded around the play store if you work with android. It is $29 but makes it worth while. You will need to root your phone (you're all set having a simple root for those who have T-Mobile or verizon his or her bootloaders aren't locked...ATT and sprint continue to be locking their own, making this an infinitely more involved root process) To make use of. There's additionally a more limited "free" version. Iphones are only able to use carplay. I realize carplay works ok but has limited functionality •Androidauto requires android 5.. In your phone. •You can output your whole android screen with touch abilities around the 4100nex if you are using appradiounchained reloaded. Read more › 22 Comments Was this review useful for you? By Albert Abeijon on April 3, 2015 The need for this mind unit is unlike not one other. title brand, all the features you would come to expect (I might be biased towards pioneer :d). Unlike the AppRadio two or three, it has a removable display. Additionally, it has numerous more choices for connectivity compared to previous. It's two USB ports at 1.6A each. I simply first got it, and still time for you to have fun with it. For now I will post the impossible-to-find photos of the rear (Inputs/Results) from the Mind unit. 1 Comment Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Jorge Ospina on April 12, 2015 I've got a 2013 Jeep Wrangler car and like lots of people who own wranglers will explain, the stock audio could be "lacking". Initially I had been reluctant on purchasing an after market mind unit but when my buddy in law put the kodak playtouch camcorder in the vehicle I had been amazed. I visited the neighborhood "Best" store but after i saw that it might be over $150 more costly, I set aside my requirement for instant gratification and anxiously waited an entire a couple of days for Prime delivery. (I freaking love Prime!!). Installation takes persistence, when you accept that you could move ahead and reap the rewards! Allow it to be known that there are plenty of cables to become laid if you would like all of the bells and Whistles, (particularly if you are running an amp or other things) but Hey, if you have your dash apart why don't you knock it. Yes, this is actually the one using the removable face. It also brings a neoprene sleeve for that face plate. Special because of the earlier reviewer using the 2012 Wrangler for posting that photo. Solved the problem visualize the way the mind unit would look installed. 10 Comments Was this review useful for you? Yes No Delivering feedback... By Jesse J Thompson on May 2, 2015 I had been initially fairly excited to obtain this set up in my vehicle, but the thrill faded inside a couple of short days. It is only very difficult to argue the need for this factor only at that cost point. At this time you are just having to pay a fairly high early adopter fee for the opportunity to have both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I didn't sample CarPlay but Android Auto works pretty much. I ran into a few snags when I asked it to navigate to someones house by voice (many instructions are voice only) and it not learning how to get it done. well, stupid factor, that's your entire purpose so it is recommended to be very good in internet marketing. Another facets of Android Auto were better. Controlling Google Music or PocketCasts from the mind unit would be a treat. However these are problems and characteristics of Android Auto, not this stereo itself, so why don't we get to that particular. Pros: It's a decent mind unit if you do not use either Telephone system. Bluetooth is effective, and all the regular apps and features that you would expect from a comparable head unit are in place (Pandora Control, ETC.). Cons: you will find a couple of, and they're fairly important. Screen quality is actually missing here. It simply beaten up so bad it had become difficult to view it throughout the day, and virtually impossible if you're putting on shades. I cranked the brightness to max but then it's so beaten up everything looks terrible. Google already utilizes a very light/pastel color scheme for Maps and when you turn the brightness up whatsoever it's practically only a white-colored screen. The screen itself really created a rattle following a week approximately and which was the straw that broke the camels back. The USB ports are exlusive to every platform one for Android phones and one for Apple phones. However , these ports take presctiption the rear. Read more › 5 Comments Was this review useful for you?
